Allstate acquired National General Holdings in January 2021, and the health side of the business was renamed Allstate Health Solutions on September 29, 2022. Existing policies did not change. The name on the marketing did. We still list the page under National General because that is what most people still type.
It is a family of underwriters, not one company. Policies are issued by National Health Insurance Company, Integon National Insurance Company and Integon Indemnity Corporation, with American Heritage Life behind some of the supplemental products. Which entity writes your policy depends on the product and the state.
What it actually sells in Florida. Short term medical is the anchor product, and around it sit accident, critical illness, dental and term life plans that can be bought alongside it or on their own. There is a separate dental, vision and hearing plan aimed at adults 55 and over, including people already on Medicare. On the group side, Allstate Health Solutions writes self-funded and supplemental plans for employers.
What it does not sell. National General does not offer ACA marketplace plans, HMOs, or Medicare Advantage.
